Committing to Be Happy

This morning, I woke up feeling exhausted, unwell, and unhappy. And if I’m being honest, I’ve felt this way often lately.

As always, I turned to my morning Tarot reading to tune into the energy of the day. The message was clear: I wasn’t taking care of myself—my body, my mind, my energy. I was letting the shadow take control, as we sometimes do when we are grieving, anxious, lost, or overwhelmed. In those moments, the sun feels like too much—too bright, too hot, too intense to bear.

Then, I started listening to a podcast by Michael Singer, and he said something simple but profound: “You should wake up in the morning and say to yourself: I hope you have fun today.”

So today, I choose to step into the sun. I commit to finding more kindness—for myself, for others—and to continuing my healing journey with intention. I told myself: I want to be happy.

Ah, happiness… this universal pursuit, something we all strive for. It often seems elusive, but the truth is that happiness is not a destination—it is a journey, a mindset, and a commitment. When we shift our perspective, everything changes. The world becomes brighter when we realize that happiness isn’t something far away or outside of us—it’s in the steps we take every day, in the space around us, and most importantly, within us.

So, let’s make that commitment. Let’s choose happiness—not as an abstract idea, but as a practice. Let’s prioritize our well-being and make choices that support our joy. Let’s practice more gratitude. Let’s take care of our bodies and minds. Let’s cultivate relationships that bring us light. Let’s pursue our passions with purpose. Let’s be more present, mindful, and open to the beauty of the moment.

And let’s do it without too much drama. Life will always have its ups and downs, its challenges and triumphs. But if we embrace the full spectrum of the human experience with grace, we will continue to grow and evolve.

Choosing happiness is lifelong, spiritual work. It is a commitment—one that has the power to transform us. And when we make that choice, again and again, we step into a life that is softer, fuller, and more balanced. A life where the sun isn’t something to fear—but something to stand in, with warmth on our skin and light in our hearts. ☀️
